This tournament is open to all women amateur golfers who are residents of Alabama in the current year. There is no age limitation for contestants.

The field will be limited to the 48 applicants with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes as verified on entry forms; no index exceeding 14.9 will be considered.

1. All entries must be filed on the Official Entry form, either electronically or by printing the entry and mailing to the WAGA office. Entry applications may be obtained from the WAGA Stroke Play Director or the WAGA office. All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday July 26, 2006.

2. An entry fee of $120.00, made payable to WAGA, must accompany the entry application. (Fee includes three days of golf, carts, club storage and range balls.)

3. Withdrawal: If an applicant withdraws prior to July 28, 2006, the entry fee will be refunded upon request subject to a $10.00 administrative fee. No refunds will be made for withdrawals after 12:00 noon, July 28, 2006.

4. The field is limited to the 48 entries with the lowest handicaps received by 5:00 p.m., July 26, 2006

Any entry is subject to rejection at any time, either before or during the Championship by the Tournament Committee of the Women's Alabama Golf Association or the Host Club.

The Women’s Alabama Stoke Play Championship shall be a 54-hole stoke play competition with contestants playing 18 holes daily on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The field will be divided into six (6) flights of eight (8) players each, after 36 holes, with the low eight (8) 36- hole posted scores qualifying for the Championship Flight. The remaining players will then be positioned into flights 1-5, with the next eight (8) lowest 36-hole totals going into First Flight, the next eight going into the Second Flight and so on, until all players have been assigned a flight.

A tie(s) for eighth (8th) place after 36 holes shall be resolved by immediate hole by hole playoff to determine who is to be placed in Championship Flight. Ties for flight positioning for other flights shall be resolved by the most recent round. A blind draw will be used to resolve any further ties.

All competition will be played in accordance with the United States Golf Association Rules of Golf. Only members of the WAGA Rules Committee shall be authorized to give ruling during play of a tournament. Final decisions are left to the Tournament Committee.

All contestants must register by 5:30 p.m, Sunday, July 30, 2006.

Awards will be presented immediately following play.

The host club extends practice privileges without green fees to all non-local participants on Sunday, July 30.

Cart fee is $19.62.

All contestants must use the Club’s Motorized Carts. NO PERSONAL CARTS ALLOWED.

No mini skirts, short shorts, jeans, halters or tank tops are allowed. Shorts should be finger-tip length or longer. Good judgment in attire is appreciated.

Parents and guests are welcome to attend the Welcome Party on Sunday evening for a nominal fee of $10.00 per person.
