Eligibility
|
Open to all women amateur golfers who (1) are a member in good standing of the WAGA (individual or club), (2) are current residents in the State of Alabama, and (3) have an established USGA Handicap Index not to exceed 36.0 at the close of entries. The maximum spread of partners USGA Handicap Indexes is 8.0. There is no age limitation for contestants. No Handicap Index exceeding 36.0 will be considered. Entries are subject to rejection, or withdrawal, at any time at the discretion of the WAGA.

ENTRY PROCEDURE
|
- All entries must be filed
electronically on the Official Entry Form. All entries must be received by
5:00 p.m. September 13, 2009.
- An entry fee of $125.00 per person ($250/team), payable to the WAGA, must accompany the entry application. (Fee includes two rounds of golf, carts (required), club storage, range balls, Monday cookout and awards).
- Withdrawal: If an applicant withdraws prior to September 13th, 2009, the entry
fee will be refunded upon request subject to a $25.00 administrative fee.
No refunds will be made for withdrawals after 5:00 pm, September 13, 2009.
- The field is limited to the first 48 teams admitted by order of entry received to the WAGA.

FORMAT
|
The State Four-Ball Championship will be conducted as 36 holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play. In Four-Ball Stroke Play two competitors play as partners, each playing her own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. If one partner fails to complete the play of the hole, there is no penalty. Partners may not have more than eight (8) strokes difference in handicap on the competition course, with each player receiving 95% of her Course Handicap on the competition course. The higher handicap contestant may lose no more than three (3) strokes to conform to the 8-stroke requirement. Flights will be predetermined by combined team Handicap Indexes. Ties for position in flights will be determined by computer draw.
All competition will be played in accordance with the United States Golf Association Rules of Golf. Only members of the WAGA Rules Committee shall be authorized to give rulings during play of a tournament. Final decisions are left to the Championship Committee.

AWARDS

The Jean Miller State
Four-Ball Championship Trophy will be presented to the team having the lowest gross
score upon completion of 36 holes. Other awards will be presented to the Overall
Low Net team, as well as 1st Low Gross and 1st Low Net team in each flight. Ties
for Overall Low Gross and Overall Low Net will be broken by immediate hole-by-hole
play-off. All ties except for overall low gross and overall low net will be broken
by the USGA Recommended Tie Breaker Procedure (Appendix I):
best score for last nine holes (#10-18)
If still tied: last six holes (#13-18)
If still tied: last three holes
(#16-18)
If still tied: the 18th hole
If still tied: Blind Draw

DRESS
CODE
|
No mini skirts, short shorts, jeans, halters or tank tops are allowed. Shorts should be finger tip length or longer. Good judgment in attire is appreciated.
